At MAYA we envision a world in which all birthing people are empowered, supported, and celebrated as they take on one of life’s most transformative events. We provide quality care, education, and support throughout pregnancy and postpartum, preparing parents and babies to flourish long-term. Our community works to upend the racial disparities that beset birthing people in Pittsburgh through advocacy and equitable care. MAYA hires program participants, follows proven models for improving birth equity, supports birthing people in making their voices heard, and champions them as experts in their own lives.
